Why does ventolin cause tremors

Since I have noticed it in my leg and foot in the evening after using my inhalers, that might be a possible answer. It if course is very mild and not constant. Interesting article. It got me thinking. I have used my Ventolin a bit more the past couple weeks either due to cold weather or being inside with my 10 allergen. Will log when I notice the tremors and see if there might be a correlation with when I have used my inhalers.

I see the Dr next week so this might be good information to keep track of. It of course is very mild and not all the time. I also considered overuse of muscles and electrolyte imbalance. Good article and gave me something to think about. This gets worse when I have to be on prednisone or am using my rescue inhaler more often.

Just last week I was in the ER with an asthma attack. I was given the equivalent of 24 puffs of Ventolin in an hour plus a dose of prednisone. My whole body was vibrating then. Thanks for the article article because I now understand why this happens. Also, cortisol is also secreted as part of the SNS response. So, corticosteroids made to mimic cortisol to reduce inflammation can also cause you to tremor.

I usually notice my tremor is worse when I'm on systemic steroids, so it definitely makes sense that your whole body might shake. Glad you found the article helpful. All the best. Community Moderator.

Arnold Admin. I am not officially asthmatic but my doctor occasionally gave me Symbicort in the past when IOf was sick or wheezing during allergy season. It always made my hands shake and I'd feel jittery. The same thing happened in a more intense way when I was given a nebulizer treatment for bronchitis. I thought I was going to jump out of my skin! And now I understand more about what causes that response.

Glad to hear from you again. It certainly is an interesting subject. And nebulizers would give you a higher dose of the medicine. So that may explain why they make you more jittery -- as they do for me too. Hope all is going well for you. I have taken and to begin with in my teens , over the counter epinephrine that gave me bad shakes.

I now take Symbicort and its really good with me. No problems at all. Keep up the good work! It's good to hear that Symbicort is helping you out without causing those pesky shakes.

It's definitely frustrating. We have come such a long way over the years in the types of medications that are offered and the way they're tolerated. It's encouraging to think about what's going to come down the pipe in the future. Just yesterday I had another occasion of a tremor in my hands.

I know its the inhalers because its always after I take them. I took a double dose yesterday as I felt I needed it, and there was the tremor again! I put it down to just something I'd have to deal with for the rest of my life. As long as my asthma is comtrolled I guess it's a minor side effect. Good to know I'm not the only one though. If you are having tremors only occasionally and have connected it to inhaler use, and especially if it does go away, I wouldn't be concerned.

I do understand how frustrating it can be, though, and you are always welcome to talk about it with us. And of course, you can mention it to your doctor if it ever starts to really worry you.
